“Where shift happens”

Our center opened in 2010 to offer the Brazos Valley and surrounding communities an integrative center for the healing arts to develop and maintain health and wellness through complementary and alternative medical therapies (CAM therapies).

We offer a soothing, calming, and peaceful atmosphere that supports the individual needs of our clients looking for ways to feel better – be it physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – while supporting the personal shifts they are seeking within their daily lives.

Why should you be interested in these therapies and our services?

Because more and more people are realizing that to maintain overall wellness, greater longevity, and a more joyful life that standard medical means are sometimes not enough. For example, ancient modalities like yoga have been scientifically proven to improve a number of conditions such as chronic pain associated with back, joint and other issues while providing a safe and therapeutic means for reaching optimum health and a more positive outlook.

Learn more about Reiki energy therapy and how it can benefit your life through one of the training workshops held by the Brazos Healing Center. Lisa Tauferner, a trained Usui Reiki Master teacher and practitioner, will offer the following workshops listed below.

• Reiki Energy Therapy Level 1 Training – September 15 & 16 (Sat/Sun; Noon to 5:00pm, each day). Cost: $175 per participant; $140 per participant with participation in the Introduction to Reiki Energy Therapy workshop – Workshop is limited to 7 participants; Deadline to sign up will be the day prior to the workshop. - This interactive 2-day workshop will provide participants the first level of Reiki energy therapy training, which includes learning the background and history of this healing art, overview of energy centers, techniques for utilizing this healing art to help others as well as managing a regular and grounded personal practice, and practical experience sharing Reiki energy therapy with other participants. No previous experience with Reiki energy therapy is required. Participants are required to attend both dates and cost includes training materials and certificate.

• Reiki Energy Therapy Level 2 Training, June 16 & 17 (Sat/Sun- meet 11:00am to 4:00pm). Cost: $175 per participant – Limited to 7 participants who have completed the Level 1 Reiki training. Deadline to sign up will be the day prior to the workshop. Click here to sign up online.

- This interactive 2-day workshop will provide participants the second level of Reiki energy therapy training, which includes deepening their knowledge of how to use Reiki through the application of Reiki symbols, distance healing techniques, and other methods for utilizing Reiki through meditation and visualizations. Substantial time will be spent practicing during the workshop to enable participants to try a variety of means of Reiki applications. Participants are required to attend both dates and cost includes training materials and certificate.

• Reiki Energy Therapy Level 3 (Master) Training, August Dates 17, 18, & 19 (Fri- 6pm to 8pm, Sat/Sun- 11:00am to 4:00pm). Cost per participant: $300.  Limited to 7 participants who have completed the Level 2 Reiki training. Deadline to sign up will be the day prior to the workshop. Click here to sign up online.

This interactive 2+ day workshop will provide participants the third (Master) level of Reiki energy therapy training, which includes deepening their knowledge of how to use Reiki through the application of additional Reiki symbols, conferring attunements on others to flow Reiki energy, and other methods for utilizing Reiki through meditation and visualizations. Substantial time will be spent practicing during the workshop to enable participants to try a variety of means of Reiki applications. Participants are required to attend the entire training and cost includes training materials and certificate.

Lisa Tauferner, Owner of Brazos Healing Center & Graduate of Yoga Yoga Teacher Training

Being a student and graduate of two 200-hour teacher training programs from Yoga Yoga in Austin, I am pleased to share with the Brazos Valley and surrounding communities the benefits of having such a stellar organization not too far down the road from us offering a nationally recognized group of yoga schools that host national yoga events and yoga teacher trainings.

In 1998 – being a recent transplant from College Station without a car – I stepped into Yoga Yoga’s South Lamar location looking for a place to continue doing yoga that was a bus ride away from my apartment.  At the time, this was Yoga Yoga’s only location, but even then I knew that they had something special considering this was my first time visiting a “real yoga studio”. I remember receiving caring and supportive instruction, feeling part of a community within the class, and receiving the wonderful Yogi Tea they served afterward. Coming from yoga at the student recreation center, this was quite luxurious and I worried about how I would afford it. Fortunately, they offered (and still do!) student discounts and I began attending the various options of classes afforded through their schedule.

“I had no intentions of becoming a yoga teacher…”

At Yoga Yoga, I first encountered Kundalini Yoga, a wonderful practice for developing awareness and balancing mind and body. Desiring to learn more about this ancient practice, so I could become a “better student,” I decided to enroll in the 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program in 2000. I had no intentions of actually becoming a yoga teacher, but as the co-founders, Mehtab and Guru Karam Benton, told us: “We intend to not gather students, but to create teachers.” With completion of my teaching practicum, I realized that this was not only something I now wanted to do, but I actually enjoyed and felt just as fulfilled in being a teacher as I felt as a student of yoga – because I was now both. Over the past decade since first experiencing Yoga Yoga’s services, I have completed another 200-hour teaching certification in Hatha Yoga, visited their drop-in classes and workshops with fabulous teachers, while also making progress toward completion of my 500-hour teaching certification.

“…continuing my connection to my ‘alma mater’ of Yoga Yoga…”

I’m pleased to share my latest development in continuing my connection to my ‘alma mater’ of Yoga Yoga is my affiliation as a Yoga Yoga Ambassador.  As a Yoga Yoga Ambassador, I am a member of a select group of regional and national yoga teachers and studio owners who are in partnership with Yoga Yoga.  This allows us all to expand our individual yoga communities and band together as a larger and united community to provide individuals and students fresh opportunities to deepen their practice and bring inspiration into their lives.
